CSR Additional Information

CSR Construction Skills Register Certificate
The CSR card is required as proof of Health and Safety training and of competence. This card is recognised by many main contractors, clients and government.

Trained Plant Operator Card (Red Card):

This card is for those who are new to the scheme, are not experienced operators, or have undergone plant training.

Health & Safety Training:

All candidates are required to complete the CSR One Day Health and Safety Course and Touch Screen Test.

Profiling and Training:

A profiling exercise is completed by the Training Provider to determine prior experience and ability and to assess whether the candidate requires training. If training is required the CSR Training Provider will deliver the necessary training.

Assessment:

All candidates must complete the ICT 600 (Intermediate Certificate of Training).

On successful completion of the CSR One Day health and safety course, Touch Screen Test and successfully achieving the ICT 600 Certificate a CSR Trained Plant Operator (Red Card) can be issued.

The card is valid for 3 years from the date of assessment and is not renewable. This is to ensure the progression towards a Blue ‘Plant Operator’ card within 3 years.

Plant Operator Card (Blue Card):

This card is for those operators who can show and demonstrate experience and have successfully achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations (Plant Operator) or Plant Operations (Slinger Signaller/Loader Securer).

Health and Safety Training:

All candidates are required to complete the CSR One Day Health and Safety Course and Touch Screen Test.

Assessment:

CSR must be notified of an Assessment taking place, whether that is the NVQ practical assessment or a practical assessment carried out at a later date otherwise CSR will not issue a card when applied for.

On completion of NVQ 2 the candidate will receive a Blue Plant Operator Card. The Blue Plant Operator Card is valid for 5 years from the date of the CSR 1 day health and safety course.

A Blue Plant Operator Card will not be issued unless six months has passed from the time of issue of a Red Trained Plant Operator Card, and the Touch Screen Health and Safety Test has been passed within two years of the application date.

Card Renewal:

The Blue Plant Operator card may be renewed on completion of the CSR One Day Health and Safety Course, Touch Screen Test and evidence from the employer that the candidate has been operating the plant category for a minimum of 300 hours during the 5 year period.
